When you see the icon at the end of a paragraph, take a look at the characters, places, or events there and dig deeper. Don't worry, it's not necessary to figure out in order to solve the puzzle, it's just to hone your detecting skills. For example, you don't think Cottrell and Pinkerton were names we just made up, did you? You might find their detective agency on Main Street U.S.A., but you'll have to dig deeper to figure out Pinkerton.
